Each Mail Mug is a unique sculpture. I begin by casting the body of USPS totes and deciding how many “totes high” I want it to be. Next I cast the many package and envelopes all separately using coloured porcelain slip so the colour is all the wat through the clay. Once I have all my pieces ready I begin to construct the handle by carefully piling up and connecting a stack of porcelain mail to the mug body.
